About Me

Digital Marketing Specialist with over 20 years of experience in digital strategy, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and online communication for international brands and entrepreneurial projects.

PhD in Economic Geography (University of Bari, 2009), I combine data analysis, strategic vision and understanding of the territorial context, applying geomarketing and UX (User Experience) approaches. Hence my focus on places, people and how technology can unite both.

Over the years I have supported companies and professionals in growing their online presence, generating leads and optimising performance, as well as experimenting with proprietary projects.

I try to stand out from the crowd with honesty, creativity and critical thinking. In a world of artificial authenticity and recycled ideas, I design strategies that awaken audiences, create real connections and strive to generate meaningful engagement.

Based in Brussels (Belgium) since 2014, I work with international networks and continue to innovate through proprietary digital projects. In the past I have lived in Soleto, Lecce, London, Sheffield, Rome and Milan.

Transparent communication, process optimisation and creativity are the pillars of my professional approach.

Creative by nature, curious by passion: electronic music production, photography, hiking, writing and travelling are my fuel for new ideas.

I provide consulting services through the Oltre Digital Marketing network and the Finest Consult accounting firm.

I have always had a particular interest in geographical representations, concepts and elements, the uniqueness of places and spatial statistics.

In particular, I have delved into the relationships between geography and memetics.

In 2009, I obtained my PhD in Economic Geography from the University of Bari, the culmination of a research path from which I then professionally distanced myself by embracing new ‘territories’ but rediscovering the knowledge acquired in numerous aspects of my current work (e.g. geomarketing). I am a member of the Italian Geographical Society.

Unfortunately, I find that the geographical disciplines in Italy are increasingly marginalised in teaching and research programmes, and consequently in the professional sphere the relevant degrees are less in demand than others, although Geography plays a central role in many areas.

Given the passions for geography and photography mentioned above, that for travel is a logical consequence. Some of the images from over 40 countries visited are posted on Flickr, Instagram, Tumblr and Swarm (formerly Foursquare).

They are Google Local Guides (8/10).

Debating political issues has always fascinated me since I was a teenager.

I believe in the value of direct democracy, which cannot do without a strong critical spirit of informed and aware citizens.

Therefore, I have taken part in initiatives aimed at achieving these goals.

I believe in the value of a State that is present but not intrusive, efficient and transparent, that severely punishes episodes of corruption and privileges meritocracy, rewarding good practices, without ever neglecting solidarity.

After a few years of libertarian militancy characterised by battles for civil rights and an experience as a student representative at the University of Lecce (now of Salento), I approached the 5 Star Movement and in 2018 I was selected through the online Parlamentarie, among the candidates for the Chamber of Deputies in the Foreign/European repartition, obtaining over 6000 preferences and being the second of the non-elected to the Italian Parliament.

Immediately after this electoral experience, I left political engagement, following the debate as a simple citizen, with a focus on the relationship between media and consensus, in light of the developments of online communication and its pros and cons in terms of forming and maintaining electoral consensus.

I am a member of some hiking groups in Belgium, in particular the Brussels Hiking Group. Although Belgium is not mountainous, it offers interesting routes in both Wallonia and Flanders. The highest peaks reached so far are Mount Toubkal in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco (4167 m) and the Acatenango Volcano in Guatemala (3976 m).

To hiking I also add cycling, my main means of transport in recent years.
